My dad used to listen to Joshua Kadison a lot when I was young. I liked his stuff but didn't really take the time to listen to his lyrics. Recently I found the CD in my dads car and I finally properly heard his lyrics. That guy seems to havr have been through some hectic shit based on his songs. He also has an amazing way of painting a picture with music and lyrics.

    Songs that specifically struck me:

Dragon fly wings (Begging for Grace) - such a hauntingly beautiful song, about someone he must have met in a mental institute and currently my favourite of his work

Picture post cards from LA - very sad portrayal of a girl who never achieves her dreams

Invisible man I think he's dealt with a fair amount of depression because this mirrors some of how I felt at times during some my experiences with depression.

His other stuff is really good too.

It's sad that he had such a short career. But I guess that may mean he just wasn't willing to release songs that didn't have some meaning to him.
