I know it sounds boring, but... remove a load-bearing wall in my unfinished basement and replace it with a beam. Our basement structure was not exactly laid out very well when the house was built, so we want to remove this wall to be able to have a nice big family room.
And especially at this time of year (hot!), a nice cool basement family room would be fantastic. :)
That's actually a good idea. We used to have a nice cool basement and it was the best place to chill during the summer if you wanted to get away from the heat. I miss that place!

I for one find that exciting! Maybe because I'm also a home owner and have my own big plans to better it.
