Just started watching, will finish later. They're going to have to change Mikasa's background since she's supposed to be the last Asian after her mother was murdered, and the attempted kidnapping of the last Asians is why she became a steel-nerved bad-ass. The effects aren't good enough to suspend disbelief; doesn't look like this movie had a high budget. You'll know that it doesn't follow the source material all too well if you watch [this trailer]. I think this movie needed a Germanic cast to be great.
Update: The two-part live-action movie looks like it'll end up as a pretty mediocre love story. It's vastly different from the manga/anime excluding a few main characters' names and some iconic scenes. Wouldn't really recommend watching it.
