[Discussion] You remove all of the cute/hot girls from your favorite anime. Is it still your favorite anime?
You remove every single hot/cute girl character from your favorite show. Does it still hold up?
I think if this were done the entirety of K-On! would cease to exist. I guess it could end up being a show about the teachers band?

How do you mean remove, do they get replaced with male/unattractive counterpart or something along those lines or they just disappear.
- My favorite anime is Haibane Renmei and I didn't see a single comment mentioning Rakka and Reki in any best girl, hot, cute girls threads/discussions. But if you replaced them with someone who looks different but acts same and has same personality I wouldn't mind.
- If you replace Lain with someone that is unattractive but has same personality as Lain it would still be one of my favorite shows and that would be my favorite character.
- Same goes for NGE which is my number 3. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I value personality and character development in my shows, not the art quality or how characters look.
The characters just disappear from the show, they don't get replaced with male/unattractive counterparts.
And the question is more geared towards characters where their main feature/purpose is their fan service-y nature. Stuff like Leafa in SAO I guess, where they have other elements to their character but they are first and foremost fanservce-y.

A couple of my favourites are Steins;Gate and Jojo's bizarre adventure.
In Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, none of the girls are really central for very much of it. I would definitely still like it if they were a bit less attractive.
Steins;Gate, they are very important to the plot, but I don't think I would like it less if they were less attractive.
I guess I wouldn't like something like the Monogatari series as much, but it's hard to say, since it would have to be changed a LOT. If it was still as funny, I would probably still like it, but maybe not as much.
I feel that if you were to remove all the girls from monogatari the show would just be Kaiki monologuing about how it's ok to swindle people out of their money. Which would probably be just as amazing.
Barakamon and Usagi Drop just fail to start. "Sensei goes to the island and mopes" for the former and "Daikichi lives a normal life". You ruined these shows, I hope you're happy.
