    E3 2017: Metroid Prime 4 Officially Announced for Nintendo Switch

    During the Nintendo Spotlight today, Nintendo officially confirmed that Metroid Prime 4 is on the way. A short teaser shown during the conference revealed a “4” followed by the familiar Metroid Prime theme and logo, but no other information aside from a promise that the game is “now in development for Nintendo Switch.”

    A Pokémon RPG’s coming to Switch

    Why Sony doesn't want PS4 owners to play with owners of Xbox and Nintendo Switch

    While Microsoft is actively encouraging cross-platform online play, Sony is actively avoiding it. This all stems from a couple of pretty big E3 2017 announcements by Microsoft and Nintendo. Minecraft, one of the biggest and most widely available games on the planet, is going cross-platform, finally unifying all the individual versions in one glorious block. Xbox, PC, mobile, Nintendo Switch, all will be able to play along together as one big happy family.

    Industry Is Better When Nintendo Is Strong, Says Sony

    Sony’s weighed in once again on the early success of the Nintendo Switch, stressing that it believes the increased presence in the space is a “good thing”. PlayStation Europe president Jim Ryan spoke earnestly about the positive reception the hybrid hardware has received, noting that it’s “great” for the medium as a whole.“It creates conversation, it creates excitement – and certainly having a rejuvenated and energetic Nintendo back is a great thing for the industry,” he said in an interview with GameReactor. “Our industry is better and stronger when Nintendo is strong – I really believe that.”

    Anthem is a 10-Year Journey Like Destiny, Says EA Exec

    EA and BioWare are planning on taking Anthem in a very Destiny-like direction, in more ways than one. During one of Microsoft’s many E3 Xbox Live livestreams, EA’s executive VP Patrick Soderlund provided some perspective into the future plans for the Anthem franchise. EA, much like Activision prior to the launch of Destiny, has a 10-year plan for the franchise which Anthem is set to launch come fall 2018.

    Nintendo has just unveiled the SNES Classic Edition- the follow up to the NES Classic, the SNES Classic is a diminutive version of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System with 21 games built-in, including The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Star Fox and Super Metroid. Just like the NES Classic, the SNES Classic will be compatible with modern televisions, plugging in via HDMI- it ships with a pair of SNES controllers, for multiplayer goodness right out of the box.
