Scientists say extreme storms will be "new normal," U.N. chief warns
Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is heading to the hurricane-battered Caribbean, where he said Wednesday that scientists predict the extreme storms during this year's Atlantic hurricane season "will be the new normal of a warming world." The U.N. chief told reporters that Hurricane Irma, which devastated Barbuda, was a Category 5 storm for three consecutive days -- "the longest on satellite record" -- and its winds that reached 300 kilometers per hour for 37 hours were "the longest on record at that intensity."

They've been saying that since at least Katrina... I've yet to see definitive proof of it being true mostly because you can go back in time and see on and off cycles of really powerful storms.
Edit: Here is the closest I've gotten to saying yup that's it.
I do only tend to see the ones that where I am.
Uh, more CO2 in the atmosphere means higher temperatures means more energy in the atmosphere means more extreme weather. What kind of proof are you waiting for that putting water on the stove will lead to boiling? Is that because you can go back in history and see that water has boiled or not boiled before? Sometimes correlation is causation.
