Mars One admits it has only received 4,227 completed applications, not 200,000
The hugely controversial Dutch-based Mars One mission has admitted that only 4,227 people actually completed its application form properly, rather than 200,000 as has been widely reported in the media. I must admit I was duped at first... but then their dubious claim of 200k+ applications, the following cuts and interviews and all the bullshit science ruined the chances of anything even remotely similar to actually happen in the near future. Oh well.
I still haven't given up completely on Mars One, but I'm losing hope. This is one of those ventures where people will be skeptical until it happens, and even if they make it to Mars there will still be lots of people claiming that it's fake.
