Mars One Is Still Completely Full of Shit
After watching a two hour debate on the feasibility of the Mars One mission last night, I think I finally understand its problem. It’s not that the company is broke. It’s that we don’t yet have the technology to sustain human life on Mars, and Mars One still won’t admit it.

Even if we had the tech, it would cost way more than MarsOne's $6 billion estimate. Additionally, there's absolutely no indication MarsOne is even capable of generating $10 million of revenue (a whopping 0.1% of their pie-in-the-sky estimate).
Preying on people's dreams of space exploration is a scummy thing to do.
Was anyone expecting anything else? Because if so I have a bridge to sell you, on Mars.
it all depends on the safety factor that you want to have. If we say that we are ok with a 30% chance of survival, and the people going know this, why should we stop them? Do I think that MarsOne is getting ahead of itself? Yes. Do I think they are a scam? No.
