I think you absolutely can, and should, keep it to the bare minimum.
If a boss was doing that at my job what the boss in the linked story do, he'd go against code of ethics he signed and I'd be within my right to anonymously report him which would lead to investigation for harassement which would result in severe consequences.
Having to live in that kind of toxic environment is insane.
I don't object to small symbols or quiet praying or things like that. Faith is a big part of people's lives. I do object when it's loud and obnoxious and doesn't consider how other people feel. Sometimes I think it's more about showing off than about God. That's not cool.
That's why I said bare minimum instead of none.
Unless you are public facing of course, then none should show to the public.
