Gaza is an open air prison. They elected Hamas, a terrorist organisation, to better their lives. Hamas responded by sending Katyusha rockets from Gaza to hit civilian centres in Sderot, and a school in Ashkelon, and breaching the Rafah border with Egypt to smuggle in rockets and weapons. They've been hitting other towns as far away as Eilat and Beersheba with rockets. Now they have access to Iranian Grad rockets, mortars, and other weapons which they use effectively in the morning as people go to work and school to inflict maximum damage.
Still, they get help from their friends in Iran, Lebanon, Syria and other places to rebuild and regroup. Most of the money they get is probably used to buy new weapons, or we'd have seen some improvement in Gaza.
I truly hope we see peace in our lifetime. At the end of the day, people on both sides of the border just want to get on with their lives, go to work, take care of their family and have a decent life.
