The system is broken due to a combination of mass stupidity, lack of engagement from people, unprecedented levels of corruption in the government, and obscene greed from the rich and powerful. If the American people really wanted something different they would make it happen, but they're just sitting and watching it happen.

The American voting public may've elected an old money New York Know Nothing gasbag with a proud family tradition of KKK membership, but let's not forget this president saved the republic by immediately stopping the loathsome, rule-by-corporate-profits TPP once he was sworn in. It's not like this vote settled nothing. Whether the hypothetical alternative is Pence or Clinton or Orrin Hatch, all I'm saying is things could be worse.
