I brush my Husky/Malamute and vacuum my house daily. Otherwise he is just absolutely unmanageable. I have several beds and I wash them about once a week. Usually just do a huge wash on Sunday.
Getting a furminator has helped so so much, I highly recommend getting one.
From the looks of the replies I'll just have to buckle down and be a constant broom guardian. I was hoping if I brushed him often enough that it might help with the hair around the house. Guess I'll just have to experiment with it for awhile to see what I can do. The furminator looks like the teeth are pretty close together. Do you have any problems pulling it through the fur?

I haven't had a problem, its a little more intense than brushing my own hair but not extreme.
Eventually you won't have to brush as much because there won't be as much loose hair. It's a cool little brush.
