Dinner rolls.

Great recipe for making delicious dinner rolls. They work well by themselves or you can use them as buns for mini sandwiches.

  • Recipe

    Ingredients:

    • 3/4 Cup Milk
    • 3/4 Cup water
    • 1/2 Cup white sugar
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 2 eggs
    • 5 teaspoons active dry yeast
    • 5 Cups all purpose flour
    • 1/2 Cup butter (melted)

    Directions

    1. In a medium saucepan combine, milk, water, sugar, and salt over medium heat. Remove from heat, and mix in eggs and yeast. (If you have a cooking thermometer I try to heat the mixture to about 115 degrees F that way when you add the eggs it should cool it down a little and make it the perfect temperature for the yeast)

    2. Measure flour into a and place in a large bowl. Make a well in the flour, and pour milk mixture into it. Do not stir. Cover with lid (plastic wrap or a damp kitchen towel will work as well ) and let stand for 20 to 30 minutes.

    3. Pour melted butter into flour, and mix well. Add more flour if too sticky. Knead lightly, Cover, and let rise for 20 to 30 minutes.

    4. Punch down dough. Shape the dough into rolls, and place on a baking sheet. Let rise again for 20 to 30 minutes.

    5. Bake rolls in a preheated 400 degree F oven for 15 minutes, or until done.
