It makes a lot of sense, it's easy to process nutrients out, a lot of the "good stuff" is fragile, but it's also easy and cheap to add in fats and simple carbs. Mac and Cheese and a can of tuna can be a family meal, but other than the protien from the tuna, there's really no nutrition in that meal. But it's cheap and filling, so if you have no money, you'll pick that meal to feed your family over something more healthy like chicken breasts and broccoli.
The price of food now is so outrageous, it's no wonder people are having these kinds of health problems. And people who have type 1 and type 2 diabetes can BARELY find food to eat that is healthy and affordable. And those having to watch their sodium intake,please..... there's almost nothing out there that doesn't have sodium in it. Its a real challenge to get food that's healthy to eat and won't break the bank so to speak.
“We are certainly looking at a period of increased instability in the supply of food," More than likely not.
