On Thursday the Rocky Mountain Institute — an energy-focused think tank known for its boldness in predicting technological change — released a truly sweeping report on the future of vehicles. Greenhouse emissions aren't going anywhere by going electric. Power generation has to come from somewhere, and until solar at scale and/or nuke (but NIMBY) can make it, that means coal, oil, and NG.
