    As long as mobile operators treat e-SIMs as standard SIMs, it shouldn't be that big of an issue. My worry is that they don't.

    Years ago, when CDMA was still a thing where I lived, I imported a few phones at less than half the price. I took them to a store to have them activated and was told that it wasn't possible because 'were not compatible' or that they 'were not approved to be used in the country'. It took a few attempts but I eventually found one that was willing to activate it locally. With a simless phone, the operator could do the same thing, and decide that they don't want to support or activate imported or non-approved phones.

    I'm with /u/Nerdeiro in that I don't give a shit about thinner phones. I can't stand this obsession that blogs have with thinner or premium feeling phones. I'll take functionality over form any day.
