Apple is going to sell its Apple TV service on Samsung TVs, because Apple wants to be a service company
If you’ve bought movies or TV shows from Apple’s iTunes store, you’re going to be able to watch them on Samsung TVs — without connecting an Apple TV box to your TV. This is one of those consumer tech announcements that is a big deal for tech reporters and analysts, and that normal people will almost never hear or care about. But it’s still worth pointing out what this means for Apple in the near-term, and in the long run.

What I got out of it is that iPhone and other apple sales have been down because just maybe nobody wants to spend a grand for a phone each year and that means they need to expand to new customers outside the ecosystem in order to keep posting record profits and keep shareholders happy.
I'm guessing this is apples way of testing the waters for an Apple TV that is actually a TV and not a plug in device much like Amazon has now started making TV's with the fireTV software built in.
That's how I see it as well...They are making the same mistake cable companies are making,just jacking up the price till no one but the 1% can afford it. It never seems to cross their minds that people really do not want to pay $300..oo a month for tv + internet...Apple has always been overpriced and I don't see that changing.
