Simultaneously a smartphone has gotten my life together and made me impulsive. As with most blessings brought on by technology throughout history, it comes with a curse. Anything and everything is on my phone's calendar with 3 email notifications, one two days before, one one day before, and one four hours before. I never miss anything and my mind is at peace about missing appointments and meetings now. I probably would have gotten through undergraduate without it, but my grades would have without a doubt been worse. On the curse side, I always feel like I might be missing out on something. I don't think checking my email is bad when I wake up, it feels nice to clear out my inbox (inbox zero ftw) first thing in the morning, but sometimes I'm guilty of thinking I should check my email even though I checked it two hours ago. I can't stand the thought of a smart-watch making me even more connected than I am now - if anything I need to figure out ways to make it so I get important stuff in a timely manner, but leave the unimportant stuff in the background without a second thought.
