It honestly reminds me of when sega during the Saturn era, obviously Nintendo has way more money then sega ever did, but the way they have been driven out of the console race so early is concerning... They really need to get back third party support, cus there's no way anyone's using a Nintendo machine as their sole console without any cross platform games available.

Plenty of artists let their music speak for them, the weeknd went platinum without doing any press or interviews.

That's the way gaming has been going for the past few years, mid tier studios have been squeezed out because the costs of making games are ridiculously high, one fuck up can sink an entire studio.

A book like 50 shades of grey topping the charts isn't something new or unexpected. Bad books have always topped the best sellers charts. Period. even at the height of their fame, the Beatles were outsold by... The monkees. Yet people don't even consider the monkees when mentioning the Beatles, so why is 50 shades dominance looked at as an example of ideas and creation being drained from our discourse?

He wasn't living like a true hermit, instead of living off the land away from society like hermits do, he was living off the scraps of others. its really not as noble as the author makes it out to be. He could've lived off the land in a place that's more hospitable, but he wanted that lifestyle where he didn't have to interact with society, while also benefiting off of it. He just took and took while never giving back.

The theory I've seen floating around reddit is that she's been brought in by investors to prepare reddit for acquisition, probably because investors have completely lost faith in the admins ability to monetise the site, now they're just trying to recoup what money they invested in reddit.

If that's true it would explain why Pao doesn't seem to care or even understand reddit, because she's not a long term appointment. She's just there to make reddit appealing to buyers.

Yeah, from what I remember voat got its start as a censorship free reddit, which kinda started attracting the conspiracy types. Combine that with all the fat people hate types, you have a toxic user base. I like that snapzu never went down that road, so we don't have to deal with people tryna open up jailbait tribes...
