I like the idea of high schools treating programming languages as a foreign language to qualify for 'foreign language' credits. I spent two years in French and have absolutely nothing of value for the effort.
Left school and now I program in five different programming languages (and can probably hum along another 2-3). Far more handy to me than omelette du fromage
