This just sucks. It's vandalism for the sake of vandalism, and the vandals got nothing out of it besides "trolling," whatever the fuck that means.
HitchBOT hitchhiked in Canada and Europe without problems, yet it couldn't even make it out of the East Coast. This is pretty shameful.

Maybe my cynicism is showing, but that was actually pretty predictable. People suck.
The whole purpose of this experiment was to analyze changes in our society, and how we've grown colder and less trusting. Over a year ago people said "this won't work in the US" etc etc...
It makes this old video kind of sad to me.

I honestly wish I could say I was surprised that it met its end in the US, but I'm really not. Poor robot.
It survived Canada and Europe, but not US :(
I was listening to Kevin Smith's smodcast yesterday and they were talking about how hitchbot made it across Canada in 26 days, but they predicted it wouldn't make it across the US. Kind of lame, but expected. People can be jerks.
They never should have allowed it into the USA.
