The idea is simple. People burn fossil fuels. The fuels emit carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Yeah jack the price up so people will buy alternative energy sources, that are already too expensive. Consumers can't boycott this, like coffee or sugar...and there are no viable alternatives that would be cheaper. Carbon trading is plain old market manipulation. JP Morgan and ilk just can't wait to cash in on that never ending commodity.
