Bogus ‘sex offender’ labels are ruining lives
What’s the most common age of sex-offenders? It’s not a trick question, but unless you follow this stuff closely you’ll almost certainly answer wrong. In fact, most people are shocked to learn that the most common age of people charged with a sex offense isn’t a creepy 39, or 51. It’s 14. That’s right. As the US Bureau of Justice reports: “The single age with the greatest number of offenders from the perspective of law enforcement was age 14.”

This is yet another consequence of religious people trying to impose their medieval morality on others, by depicting sex and teenage sexual experimentation as a dirty and criminal act rather than normal biology. Sure, there are people who commit terrible sexual crimes, but utterly destroying the lives of hundreds of thousands of people for minor childish offenses or for natural, innocent exploration of their sexuality looks like a much worse crime to me.
It is indeed. I wish an anti religion virus would be created and spread as easily as the cold.
We have the cure but we lack the political will to implement it. I don't think it's a coincidence that social conservatives also oppose programs that target poverty and inequality.
Or education. Ignorant people are easy to manipulate.
That would bring humanity instantly 500 years ahead. The biggest obstacle in the way of human progress is not the lack of a cure of cancer, or the limited human lifespan, or the limited resources on Earth, or anything physical. The biggest obstacle is religion.
Greed too, but greed uses religion as its main tool to succeed. Greed is, in fact, the root cause behind most of the major religions.
