It wont replace blue collar jobs, and I doubt the 80% number for white collar overall. I wouldn't recommend starting school for lawyer, investment banker, or plan for a long career in things like desktop support, call center, programmer, or some customer service type jobs.
Keep in mind, we were supposed to have room temperature superconductors and cold fusion "in the next few years"... since the 1980's.
