A combination of a diabetes medication and an antihypertensive drug effectively fights cancer cells, according to a team of researchers at the University of Basel. They also report that specific cancer cells respond to this combination of drugs. Metformin is the most widely prescribed drug for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
