debatable, controversial, and too complicated for students

I'm guessing the students in Turkey are particularly stupid. Evolution can be explained in very simple terms, there's nothing confusing about it.

More likely though is that the politicians are too stupid to understand it. It doesn't involve getting bribed or getting more power, so it's too difficult for them to comprehend.

    A company having dignity? Haaaahahahhaahaaa!

Companies exist to make money. They sell this crap to people because they buy it. As long as people are ignorant (and proud of it, as many are), they'll keep paying for shit. It's like a tax on stupidity.

Acetaminophen is a scary drug. People don't really know the mechanism by which it relieves pain. The difference between a therapeutic dose and one that will kill you (slowly and painfully due to irreversible liver damage) is very small compared to most drugs. Since we don't know how it works, we don't really understand what else it could do. A subtle effect like the one in this post would be pretty hard to find or prove.

we're under cyber attack from Kim Jong Un, (Vladimir) Putin or a kid in his mom's basement or something...

And that is the beauty of the Internet. Not the hacking, but the way it tends to equalize people.

Telecom Cable owner Anthony Luna estimated the value of his business at about $1.8 million, which he is seeking to recover. He is also seeking other damages from Comcast and its contractors, including exemplary damages that under state statute could "amount to a maximum of twice the amount of economic damages, plus up to $750,000 of non-economic damages," the complaint says.

I'm sure Comcast are terrified about losing this lawsuit. The impact to their earnings would be catastrophic.

As long as there aren't any proportional punishments to corporations for misbehavior, they won't stop. Why would they stop when they can make more money by breaking the law and paying the fines?

Why suspended? Do they believe this is the first time they did that?

    Right.

Honestly the best use of such leaks is teaching people how to not write good code. Microsoft software is a (bad) joke.

This is all part of a master plan. We take all the jobs from the lazy Mexicans and give them to the Chinese. Then China will have so many jobs that they won't know what to do with them, so they will export them to the US. This has the side effect of leaving Mexicans without jobs, which is good because they're all smelly illegal narcos, but eventually even the good Mexicans (0.01% obviously) will come to the US and take even more of those Chinese jobs, which will leave America with all the decent jobs from everywhere.

Or something like that. I'm certain there is a coherent plan. Having had a bottle of wine helps me understand it.

The government is at war against its own citizens. It shouldn't be surprising, since war is its specialty.

I know, my sarcastic nature is also compounded by not being a native English speaker. I just find that using the /s tag kind of defies some of the purpose of sarcasm.

I didn't see the part about them being sold. Offering to buy or rent them to house the victims is definitely ok. Just forcefully taking over them is not. In a different situation I might have a different opinion, for example if the government didn't have any other option, but we're talking about the Council of the Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. I'm pretty sure they have enough money to find alternative housing for the victims without forcibly taking it from private owners.

I'm no sure I get the point. I'm perfectly happy helping people who need a home. I will gladly pay taxes for the government to build housing for people who need it. I would even be happy to volunteer living space I own and I'm not using to help out. But the government forcing me to do it is not acceptable. What happened there is not my fault, it's the council's (i.e., the government's) fault.

Edit: It's hard to grammar with a kid hanging from your neck.

Wow these guys really believed some crazy shit:

Central to the Nazis’ mystical beliefs was World Ice Theory, propounded in the 1912 book Glacial Cosmogony by Hanns Hörbiger. This held that white ‘Aryan’ man was not descended from the apes, as were other inferior races, but rather came from ‘divine sperma’ brought to earth by meteors. These developed into the godlike Supermen of the ancient civilisation of Atlantis

I was going to say that they lost simply because they were stupid and attacked Stalin before taking over Britain, but it seems they were way more stupid than that.

    22. If your body is too big to fit in a seat, but as many seats as you need to accommodate it.

    23. Don't fly United.

    Edit: Damn lying line feeds.
