So we put people in jail for not helping put themselves in jail. Wasn't that the point of the fifth amendment in the first place? Basically you're torturing someone to get them to incriminate themselves.
Yes, that does seem like the entire point, even if you have the lower court belief fingerprints don't count, the story about the man who is in jail for not giving up a passcode is crazy. Cops have to prosecute you, you don't have to help them do it because you don't have to incriminate yourself. Sadly the constitution only applies these days under the interpretation of whatever judge you are in front of at the time.
