Two sentences in before I figured out you weren't talking about housework. I, too, tried it once, but you know what? The dust just builds back up again... it's like it's drifting around in the air or something. Weird.

But, seriously, yeah, I'm glad you're OK. Don't do drugs, stay in school, etc.

While I was a reporter for local public radio I had the opportunity to meet a few -- probably Mikhail Baryshnikov was the biggest, I interviewed him when he was in Honolulu with his dance company. On the comics front Will Eisner was very cool; I interviewed Stan Lee and Bob Kane too, but both by phone.

    Nothing.

No, seriously, follow me. Sit out under the stars, put your feet up, and let your mind wander. No great meditations, nothing in particular to focus on. Just take it in.

I do this at my in-laws' place when we stay with them, usually after everyone else has gone to bed. A beverage is usually involved. On a typical night I'll see two or three meteors. The trick is not to expect anything, not to look for or wait for the meteors... just to be there. It's an incredibly restful and recharging time for me.

I've been telling my (AP physics) students about this throughout the year, tracking it as it gets closer and closer, and I'm hoping to have some really spectacular photos to show them int he fall. There are so many superlatives with this one -- the speed of the probe, the distance, the accuracy required, the brief window of the fly-by -- that it really captures the imagination.
