Weather and climate are not the same thing. "Global warming" is how we describe the fact that average temperatures will increase. This event may be related, but on its own it doesn't constitute evidence for global warming. Similarly, record cold events in the winter are not evidence against global warming because they also represent short-term conditions, not averages.
