I think it's a step in the right direction, but, I profoundly dislike the idea of running x number of apps just to get television. For example, run netflix for movies and older tv. run sling tv to watch sports and a handful of other shitty shows, run hulu for commercials, commercials, commercials, 3 sunday night shows, commercials, 9000 south korean soap operas and 7000 bollywood movies right after this commercial break.
The article isn't explicit about if the new service will allow you to watch already-played sports, or if will be 'live only, no matter what'. So, if you're 15 minutes late to tuning into a game, you're just SOL and have to live without watching the first 15 minutes of it.
I guess we'll see. Really looking forward to see what HBO has.
