Personally, I have well over 500 books scattered around the house and at least a hundred digital books on my Kindle. While my binge-shopping for books has been curtailed over the past several years, it still occurs especially when there's a good sale on.
I think that the world is big enough for both 'analog' and 'digital' books to both flourish. There's no reason why one must vanquish the other.
