I agree with you on that note. IF FPH was just a sub that hated on fat people, but also just minded their own business, then I would object to the banning. But since they were harassing people outside of their subreddit, I fully support their being banned.

As Evelyn Beatrice Hall said, “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”.

Most of the people complaining about free speech have no idea what they're talking about

"Protect Fat People Hate's freedom of speech!!!1!!!"

I've said this before, and I'll say it again: it's not a motherfucking freedom of speech issue

If you harass other users on a website, the admins have every right to kick your ass off it. If I work at McDonalds, and if I talk shit about them while I'm on their payroll, they can (and probably will) fire my goddamn ass. If you don't like what a website has done: close down your account, stop giving monetary support, etc. Let the website know that you, as a consumer, are pissed off about a policy of theirs. That's how the market works.

    TL;DR: http://xkcd.com/1357/

    You said it.

Ellen Pao has taken reddit in a direction that I am not comfortable or okay with. First, there was the inconsistent banning of hateful subreddits. I understand that they were banned for harassing people, but there were a lot of other subreddits that were doing the same thing. R/shitredditsays comes to mind. Secondly, there was the firing of Victoria. She did all the AMAs, and she was fired without a forewarning. This also got in the way of several AMAs on the other subreddits that did AMAs. It's just moving in a direction I don't feel like is good.

Having just taken geometry, I would have to go with the Horse Sized Duck; due to the cube square law, the duck would not be able to support itself.

Now for Argentina: well fixing the peso to the dollar was certainly a mistake on their part. It also didn't help that the Argentinian government has lots of debt and kept piling more on. I'm not an expert in economics (though I certainly hope to be so one day), so I'm probably not the best person to ask. One interesting thing to note though is that the Argentinean government implemented an arguably successful job guarantee program to deal with massive unemployment. Perhaps we have something to learn from them on that note. (see more here: http://www.levyinstitute.org/pubs/wp_534.pdf)
