Ryan Reynolds Revives ‘ALF’ for His Maximum Effort Channel
ALF is back. And he’s shilling for video doorbells. The alien puppet (ALF is an acronym for Alien Life Form) has been revived for a series of branded segments on Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort channel. The Maximum Effort Channel, which is available to stream on platforms like Fubo, Amazon Freevee and Tubi, has acquired the rights to the classic 1980s sitcom starring the puppet, and will weave in the new sponsored segments — which it is calling “Maximum Moments” — during the episodes. The company worked with ALF creator Paul Fusco and Shout! Studios to develop the sponsored segments.

Jane Birkin, actor and singer, dies aged 76
The Anglo-French singer and actor Jane Birkin has died at the age of 76, the French culture ministry has announced. The singer had been forced to postpone several concerts in Paris scheduled for May after breaking her shoulder in March 2022. This followed another string of cancelled shows after Birkin had a stroke in September 2021.

Sarah Silverman is suing OpenAI and Meta for copyright infringement
Comedian and author Sarah Silverman, as well as authors Christopher Golden and Richard Kadrey — are suing OpenAI and Meta each in a US District Court over dual claims of copyright infringement. The suits alleges, among other things, that OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Meta’s LLaMA were trained on illegally-acquired datasets containing their works, which they say were acquired from “shadow library” websites like Bibliotik, Library Genesis, Z-Library, and others, noting the books are “available in bulk via torrent systems.”

That's according to the series' executive producer Tomek Baginski, who has discussed the upcoming third season of the show - the last to star Henry Cavill as the protagonist - in an interview with Yahoo News, where the shift to Hemsworth for future seasons was mentioned.

It’s my Jones, I want to be helpful.”
