First announced in May of this year, the post-apocalyptic series has officially been green-lit, the premium cable network announced today. Mazin (scribe of The Hangover II - III and HBO's critically acclaimed Chernobyl miniseries) will write and executive produce the series alongside Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann.

North American Concert Industry Lost $30 Billion in 2020
The global live events industry lost more than $30 billion in 2020 due to the global pandemic, including $9.7 billion at the box office, according to the year-end report by live-entertainment industry trade publication Pollstar. At the top of the year, the industry was projected to hit a record-setting $12.2 billion at the box office in 2020, but instead incurred $9.7 billion in Boxoffice losses after the industry effectively shut down completely in March.

‘Alien’ TV Series from Noah Hawley Set for FX
FX boss John Landgraf has confirmed an “Alien” television series is in development from Noah Hawley. Ridley Scott is also in talks to serve as executive producer. Per Deadline: “The series is billed as being the first ‘Alien’ story set on Earth, and will blend the timeless horror of the original 1979 movie and the non-stop action of the 1986 James Cameron-directed second.” (Disney, apparently, does not consider the “Alien vs. Predator” series to be part of the official franchise.)

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" was renewed by FX for four more seasons Thursday, making it the longest-running, live-action sitcom in TV history. The Philadelphia-centric show, which aired it 14th season last year, will bump "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet," from that title. "Ozzie and Harriet" ran for 14 seasons.

Lister’s manager, Cindy Cowan, said he was found unconscious in his home in Marina Del Rey, California, on Thursday afternoon. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
