Civilization VI Soundtrack

First time I tried to do something with E1M1 was way back in 2013 but I couldn't figure out a way to make it more than just a straightforward cover plus there were already killer guitar covers of it from Charlie Parra and Erock. But after the reboot came out earlier this year (which is a lot of fun btw!), I thought it'd be cool to do an old-meets-new style remix of E1M1/At DOOM's Gate. Mick Gordon's work on the Doom soundtrack is incredible, great mix of drop-tuned guitars and aggressive synths; definitely recommend checking that out if you've not already!

EarthBound's soundtrack will be available in four colors on vinyl, plus more copies of the EarthBound Beginnings set are coming.

The company has been around for 30 years and has already produced tons of franchises that have become household names. With 2015 being a special year for the studio, Los Angeles-based gallery iam8bit decided to join the nostalgic fun by teaming up with Xbox and Rare on a collection limited edition deluxe vinyl sets.

From the video game soundtrack to SSX 3. This song perfectly captures the feeling of snowboarding or skiing down the mountain, not a cloud in the sky, and no worries.

The game was super easy, but I loved this track. Yes, it's repetitive but it gets awesome around 0:45. Those bass notes!

The Last of Us was a big-hearted action-adventure with a much-admired soundtrack, composed by Gustavo Santaolalla. Now it's getting a four-disk vinyl release all wrapped up in some gorgeous packaging...

My favorite song from the missingno. tracks. If anyone hasn't checked it out yet, it's series of remixes based on the pokemon series soundtrack by Over Clocked Remix. I highly recommend giving the entire album a listen.

Gorgeous soundtrack for one of the most beautiful games I've ever played.

My favorite Megaman soundtrack. Despite 6 being extremely simple compared to the other 5, its atmosphere and music is what makes it one of my favorite games in the series.

Classic example of SNES ambience. One of the sound designers for the game went on to work on Earthbound, another game well known for it's creatively evocative music. One particular thing I love about this piece is its modern use of texture and space. The chord progression and the "melodies" that sparsely accompany it remind me of a lot of music coming out today similar to artists like James Blake and Bon Iver.
