A friend of mine was married to a man who became obsessed with WOW..He played all evening, every evening. When company came over,he still played..His wife would bring his dinner to the computer. They stopped having sex cause WOW was more important. She finally divorced him.

This sounds like a story all too common with WOW addicted players.

Years ago I was hooked on Half-Life, to the point that I gave up sleep and played it until the wee hours of the morning. Eventually I had to stop myself or I would've ended up divorced. I've steered away from video games ever since. I recognize that my obsessive addictive personality should not indulge.

Yeah, I actually played Google's augmented reality game "Ingress" for about a year when it first came out a couple years ago and I got really obsessive with that too. I was spending hours a day driving, biking and walking all over the place to capture and link portals. I finally had to quit because I would wake up at night thinking about it and obsessed way to much. It was a LOT of fun, but it was taking over my life and my thought life. I'm just not made to play these games in a healthy way, if there is one. :P

Always wondered about that game, didn't realize how addictive it can be.

I have the same exact problem, so I stay away from RPG style games as I have a tendency to get hopelessly addicted to them. Now I just keep my sessions short, and never more than a couple of hours.
