This cant be true, its just too ridiculous! How is this guy not sued into the ground? Why aren't people protecting their artwork...
I think it's true. I remember the lawsuit mentioned in the article. I guess the guy was emboldened by winning that "fair use" suit and now he's raking it in. It's hard to protect artwork, and I think what this guy is doing is legal anyway. Copyright is a tricky business and random people on Instagram are probably not going to sue.
What would you consider not ok when it comes to these types of scenarios?
Well, I don't think it matters what I consider not ok. I'm not saying I think it's ok, just that Prince already won a previous lawsuit about this sort of thing, so he's probably confident that he would win another.
