Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer ‘Very Sorry’ for the Week-long Outage

Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer wrote a blog on Tumblr saying how “very sorry” she is for the inconvenience and frustration the Yahoo outage caused to its users. She also explained the cause of the very long “scheduled maintenance.”

  Unless she was personally effected by this outage, and wasn't able to properly conduct business and general communications because of it, I doubt she understands how pissed off people are about this. The fact that it was going on for so long without them giving people a heads up is unforgivable. I will be shocked if Yahoo remains in the email business after 2014.

I still can't figure out why everyone thinks she's so great. I haven't been impressed with very much of what she has done.

  Me neither. All she's done is spent a boatload of cash acquiring some big social networks. Her going after imgur is stupid and will completely kill that site.
