    however... a six month watch battery could be a huge breakthrough.

    maybe we could have cellphones that last a week easily. Or laptops that will run for several days without being plugged in.

      That would be amazing! Battery technology is really the only technology that has been somewhat lagging behind all the other major advances. I mean, if we were powering devices from the 90's built with technology of today then the battery would last much longer simply because those devices wouldn't be using nearly as much energy consuming resources but still. What we need is a battery that either doesn't need to be charged in a long time (very hard to do due to safety concerns with storing such vast amounts of energy in small spaces) or one that charges in seconds wirelessly without the need for the device to be taken off or treated any differently.
