How will nanobots change medicine?
Nano-robots that fix tissues and control drugs have been envisioned for over 30 years. Now, using DNA origami and molecular programming, they are reality. These nanobots can seek and kill cancer cells, mimic social insect behaviors, carry out logical operators like a computer in a living animal, and they can be controlled from an Xbox. Ido Bachelet from the bio-design lab at Bar Ilan University explains this technology and how it will change medicine in the near future.

Rational and Irrational Thought: The Thinking that IQ Tests Miss
No doubt you know several folks with perfectly respectable IQs who repeatedly make poor decisions. The behavior of such people tells us that we are missing something important by treating intelligence as if it encompassed all cognitive abilities. I coined the term “dysrationalia” (analogous to “dyslexia”), meaning the inability to think and behave rationally despite having adequate intelligence, to draw attention to a large domain of cognitive life...

Christmas on the Road in Iceland
247 minutes. That’s the small amount of daylight we had to travel, hike and explore southern Iceland. We made sure to not waste a single minute of these precious moments of daylight. That meant driving and hiking through the darkness of 20 hour nights.

Think about safety when you build tiny houses
Tiny houses are a big deal these days, and a lot of men and women are finding into the company of designing, creating and selling them. There is a purpose that tiny houses are on chassis and are less than 8'-6" wide outside: on wheels and that width, they are not regarded as buildings and are not topic to standard developing codes or zoning bylaws. There are guidelines for Recreational Autos or RVs, but they are pretty vague and there does not seem to be lot of enforcement.

11 of the Weirdest Solutions to the Fermi Paradox
Most people take it for granted that we have yet to make contact with an extraterrestrial civilization. Trouble is, the numbers don’t add up. Our Galaxy is so old that every corner of it should have been visited many, many times over by now. No theory to date has satisfactorily explained away this Great Silence, so it’s time to think outside the box. Here are eleven of the weirdest solutions to the Fermi Paradox.

Elon Musk's hyperloop is actually making progress
When Elon Musk unveiled his idea for the Hyperloop in August of 2013, no one seemed sure what the next step would be. The Tesla Motors and SpaceX CEO dropped a 57-page alpha white paper on us, noting he didn't really have the time to build a revolutionary transit system that would shoot pods full of people around the country in above-ground tubes at 800 mph.
