Problem with the robot overlords would be that they would just exterminate us, there really is no need for us to be on this world with an intelligence that thousands if not millions of times more advanced and only growing at an immeasurable speed.
We can already see how nonhuman corporations can behave, and they are ran by a bunch of humans. Now imagine something that is a million times smarter and more advanced than all the human minds put together. Where emotions such as love, fear & guilt don't exist. All that exists is a calculating, self aware brain that is able to play out every single scenario with humans around and without. Imagine how little time it would need to decide that humans are not an integral part of its future.
