Sadly, unless Nvidia can keep up with manufacturing of the mining specific cards it won't make a difference because when those run out of stock the miners will just buy GTX cards anyway as they don't care what they use. They would have to come up with a way of making mining impossible on GTX cards and I'm not sure how they would accomplish that or if it is even possible.
