Prosecutors plan to seek the death sentence for a man accused of killing three young Muslims in North Carolina in a case that garnered national attention and calls to investigate a potential hate crime. Durham County District Attorney Roger Echols said in court documents filed last week.

But, let's center the whole news article on the fact that the victims were (allegedly) Muslim. This was a hate crime to the extent that Hicks hated everyone anyway- those people just happen to be the ones who managed to stray into his path.
Make no mistake. Dude's a murderer. He should be put away for what he did, wether it was to Muslims, Christians, Jews, or Atheists.
This... I think we can all agree that this guy is equally racist to everyone, Muslims being of course a part of his "people I ignorantly hate" list.
