I really, really like G+ and I've been using social networks since Usenet newsgroups, BBSs, and online forums on services such as CompuServe, GEnie, and The Well. That said, while I understand why Google wants to make G+ the social networking layer of its services stack, I feel a bit worried that it will go from being nice to have to being mandatory.
