The comments that article provoked are indicative of the conversation happening about climate change/global warming here in North America. Not only can't we agree on whether or not climate change is actually a thing, but we definitely can't agree on what to do about it. It bears remembering we are one planet, and everyone needs to be on board with a solution, not just some countries charging a carbon tax to its citizens while others enthusiastically and thoughtless spew pollutants willy nilly. We need to agree, from corporations to governments to citizens, that profit at all costs, outsourcing, cheaper is better, let's pollute their country instead of ours type of thinking is detrimental to ALL of humanity. It's the same air and the same rain we share across this planet. Whatever happens in China (for example) will affect us all sooner or later. Let's be forward thinking and proactive instead of derisive and divisive.
