I'm typing this comment on an Acer Android tablet that probably weighs twice as much, but it has most of the power for half the price. It also has a MicroSD card slot, 2 USB posts (one slave, one host), a miniHDMI port, and a battery that will last me all day while stuck in an airport.
I have nothing against Apple, and I think my girlfriend's iPad is pretty slick, but I just don't understand why they can't put a MicroSD expansion slot on the damn things. I can live without the USB ports (as nice as they are), but not having expandable/removable storage is a deal breaker for me.

It's because they want you to pony up more $$$ for the higher end model with more storage, and then a year later a completely new ipad.
Same as Sony selling their own storage format for the PS Vita at such ridiculously marked up prices. If you don't like it, too bad.
Exactly. It's dirty business tactics.
