Obama's Saturday remarks began with the aftermath of the 16-day crisis, vowing that "there were no winners in this" government shutdown. He then moved forward to future priorities, reiterating three key plans from his Thursday speech: crafting a balanced budget, fixing a broken immigration system, and passing a farm bill.

"Remember, our deficits are shrinking -not growing". This is very true, but after the initial largest deficit ever, a result of the "stimulus", it had to, and that minimal "shrinkage" is nothing to brag about. "........or just because the extremes in our parties don't like compromise." Does that make you and Sen Reid extremists,...Mr President?
