I've read chocolate good for your gut biome. I use coco powder which I mix with coffee and sweeten with stevia for my chocolate fix since i don't consume sugar.
Cocoa is good. Sugar is not. Of course, candy companies would like to make you believe that somehow the effect of sugar is cancelled out by the cocoa.
You got that right. And most of the fake sweetners cause gas/dirrhea and some people can't hack the taste of stevia,so they just pretend sugar is fine in "moderation." In reality,moderation is impossible cause they hide sugar in everything,even soup.
