I still love John Carpenter's The Thing. No other horror movie comes close for me. It's an 80s horror film using prosthetics that have a similar look and feel to the original Alien. It was recently 're-made' as a prequel (Also called The Thing) in 2011, using CGI. There was controversy over this as they originally planned on using prosthetics to pay homage to the original film, but changed their mind halfway through filming. The team that was doing these effects are now creating a new film called 'Harbinger Down' that is basically a re-make of The Thing, on a boat, using these prosthetic effects - or 'practical creature FX' as they call them. Seriously, watch this movie without looking anything about it up before hand. I'm so jealous that you get to watch it for the first time.
I am also very interested in watching It Follows and will probably do so after seeing more praise for it in this thread.

So far I would say IUD insertion. I've had food poisoning and broke my arm, but this was way more uncomfortable. It's a very different kind of pain than an injury outside your body, and your whole uterus just cramps up. I had to lay down the entire day with a heat pack after taking a ton of ibuprofen. The parts that are painful are the clamps and the actual insertion. The clamps grab on to your cervix to hold it still and straight, OUCH. Then the IUD is inserted into your cervix. (Guys, imagine metal clamps grabbing your penis by it's head and pulling it straight before they shove a Q-tip up your urethra.)

While you are entitled to an opinion, I can't help but feel like your opinion is solely based on looks. I highly doubt you have worn any of the clothing you are advocating against, and therefore do not understand how comfortable they are. I don't care about how sexy or cool I look when I'm dressing for comfort.

I hated my voice at first when I started by podcast, but got pretty used to hearing it after a year of listening. It definitely does take some getting used to. I really want to try recording myself singing to hear what that sounds like, but am also afraid that it will sound completely different from what I hear.

Leap Motion’s Augmented-Reality Computing Looks Stupid Cool
A team of Leap Motion engineers built an augmented-reality work environment, where regular desktop applications jump out of the computer and into 3-D space. | It may not be practical as-is, but I think that some aspects of using augmented reality in organization of my workspace would be beneficial. Ex: 3D modeling would be nice if you could 'black out' the rest of the atmosphere while working with the 3D model in a way that you could physically move around it.

Yeah, the visuals were definitely made a priority, I hope they paid the same amount of detail to gameplay.

Yeah, I agree with the wanted levels. They could literally do anything with game mechanics at this point and I really hope they include many different paths of gameplay to choose from. I personally hope they do a bit more with collecting materials, maybe allowing players to craft or create items.
