I think I'm gonna have to learn about what blockchains actually are and then come back to this. Then this book excerpt might make some sense. Because I have no idea what I just have read about... It's just a bunch of incoherent rambling. Like a conman that is trying to sell a 'wonderful new product' only by highlighting the possibilities and benefits of it but without touching on how it's actually supposed to work or what it does precisely (I'm not saying blockchains are a scam; it's just how reading this excerpt felt like to me).

In context of fighting climate change, I don't think this news calls for celebration. As long as energy production depends on fossil fuels, we're not going to achieve sustainability. Energy production with natural gas indeed has a smaller carbon footprint than oil or coal. But it's not small enough. We need clean energy, not 'less dirty' energy.

I could stand corrected. I can imagine a straight transition from an oil & coal dominated energy system to a completely renewable & clean one might be too slow to meet climate goals, and this be a necessary intermediate to reduce emissions while the transition is happening. This I don't know. I just hope this doesn't create too much of a delay on attaining the renewable & clean energy system we need to end up with.

Curious, I went to check out their website and was excited to see they do live streams. First thing I see is a stream of people working on a crossword puzzle. I'm hooked.

I'm pretty sure that's indeed the reason why the body still twitches. I experienced the same while disecting frogs (during my biology education, not for fun like a maniac :P). Some of us experimented with a little salt and the legs kept twitching up to 15min after the frogs were killed. The legs were completely severed from the body as well, so there wasn't any residual brain or spinal cord activity responsible for it.
